Bridgethorne Training Academy, which delivers Key Account Management, Category and Shopper capability development programmes, is to offer a limited number of free Customer Strategic Business Planning Workshops for grocery and FMCG suppliers.

The bitesize workshop, which will act as an introduction to Bridgethorne’s broader training offering, is a two-hour interactive session to take place at the suppliers’ own offices for up to six people from across both commercial and category teams. At least one director or team leader needs to participate. 

The Workshop will help grow the supplier team’s ability to strategically engage with retail customers. Bridgethorne’s expert trainers and practitioners will share some best practice tools, processes and principles developed to help suppliers have more success engaging strategically with their customers.

The session will give participants an understanding of best practice principles and processes for customer strategic business planning to inspire commitment from retail partners, and an appreciation of the framework and components for customer strategic business plans focusing on shopper needs and category growth. By the end of the workshop, participants will have created a preliminary vision for their customer strategic business plan and planned how to engage targeted customers to partner with them.

“We want to show their teams how to see and define the ‘big picture’ for their categories and brands and agree clear pathways to getting there with customers. This means showing them how to work most effectively with customers to co-develop and/or share strategic plans and inspire commitment from retail customers.”
